Dr. Tony Sun to Leave Louisiana Health Care Review -Medical Director Accepts New Position in Kansas City

Baton Rouge, LA- May 15, 2008 - Gary Curtis, CEO of Louisiana Health Care Review, today announced that Dr. Tony Sun will be leaving his position as chief medical director for the organization. Sun has served as LHCR's medical director for nine years. Sun has accepted a position as Market Medical Director for UnitedHealth Group in Overland Park, KS.

"Dr. Sun has been a tremendous advocate for the quest to improve health care quality in Louisiana. Throughout his career at LHCR, he has worked toward the goal of making our citizens healthier by focusing on efforts to improve the delivery of health care. Today, we are seeing the results as more and more providers, insurers, government agencies, policy makers and health-related organizations have adopted the principals of quality improvement," said Curtis.

Curtis added that by accepting a position in Kansas City, Sun will be able to live near his family.

"We wish Dr. Sun the best as he begins this next chapter in his life. He has been a valuable member of the LHCR family and it has been privilege to have worked with him. Without a doubt, UnitedHealth has recruited an outstanding individual," Curtis said.

Through his tenure with Ochsner, his teaching appointments with both LSU and Tulane, and his active leadership at the state and national levels, Sun has helped LHCR build statewide physician and community partnerships. He has served on the boards of directors for the American Health Quality Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, Louisiana Association of Health Plans, the Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum and many other organizations and statewide initiatives.

Viewed as a health quality champion, Sun has actively promoted health information technology to improve care.

Curtis said that Louisiana Health Care Review has a clinical team who will continue to provide medical oversight to the company's efforts. This includes quality improvement efforts on behalf of Medicare patients in Louisiana and Medicaid beneficiaries in Mississippi and Illinois.
