Announcing the 2009 Louisiana Family Medicine

Leadership Conference & Strategic Planning Retreat!

Mark your calendar to attend the 2009 Louisiana Family Medicine Leadership Conference & Strategic Planning Retreat scheduled for January 10-11, 2009 at Baton Rouge General Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. The conference will be held in conjunction with the LAFP Board and Committee Cluster Meetings.

On day one, sessions will be offered to allow students and residents who have an interest in Family Medicine a chance to interact with distinguished Louisiana physicians, network with Louisiana’s exhibiting hospitals and residency programs, learn more about the LAFP/AAFP, AHEC and MedJob LA, get information on USMLE Step 2 Prep Test, and participate in hands-on clinical workshops.  The LAFP Board and Committee Cluster Meetings will also take place on day one.

  • Advocacy and Policy Track (Residents & Students)
  • Didactics Track (Residents & Students)
  • LAFP Board, Committee Chair and Members Track (Cluster Meetings)

Schedule of Events for Day 2:

  • LAFP Strategic Planning Retreat – The retreat will be facilitated by New Jersey’s AFP Executive Director, Ray Sapateli.  A Representative from the AAFP will also be present.

Also, if you have any items that you would like to have on the agenda or a written report that you would like presented during the Board Meeting for your department or committee, please email it to us so that it can be included in the meeting packet.  All agenda items and reports need to be submitted by Monday, December 15th.  The agenda for each meeting will be forwarded to you closer to the meeting date.
