Seeking Nominations for AAFP 2009 Humanitarian Award

LAFP wants your suggestions for a Louisiana nominee for the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Humanitarian Award.

Established in 1997, this award honors extraordinary and enduring humanitarian efforts, both within and beyond the borders of the United States; and encourages AAFP members, their families and colleagues to assume a sense of global responsibility and to encourage service to others.

The Humanitarian Award will be presented in October during the AAFP Congress of Delegates in Boston.

The award is open only to AAFP members and is not necessarily awarded every year.

If you would like to nominate a member, please send a brief summary of the person’s accomplishments and why you believe that the member deserves this award to mckoonce@lafp.org.

In order for LAFP to forward nominations to AAFP on time, nominations must be received by LAFP no later than Friday, Feb. 20.
