The Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum (Quality Forum) is a private nonprofit organization whose mission is to lead evidence based collaborative initiatives to improve the health of the people of Louisiana.

The Quality Forum is seeking to fill vacant positions on its Board of Directors. The LHCQF Board meets face-to-face bi-monthly, by teleconference in the between months and additional work is conducted by conference call and electronically, as necessary. Board members are encouraged to serve on at least on committee. Travel expenses for meetings may be reimbursed, but no compensation is offered. Directors will be limited to two consecutive 3-year terms.

The Quality Forum's bylaws state "Collectively, the Board shall have the leadership, expertise, credibility, balance, diversity and integrity to implement and maintain a Louisiana state strategy for health care quality improvement. " Individuals from many different backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged to apply, including consumers, purchasers, healthcare providers and practitioners, researchers, public health representatives, and suppliers, and others.

Minimum criteria for application by an individual are:

  1. is a recognized leader with demonstrated interest in the healthcare sector
  2. has demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: quality improvement, business, health care systems design and engineering, health care financing and reimbursement, change management, consumer education and advocacy, health care delivery, population health, health information technology and health care services and policy research
  3. is willing to serve, if appointed, and willing to commit the necessary time, energy, and effort to participating in LHCQF activities.

Given the current composition of the Board, preferred criteria for this year's applications are:

  1. extends geographic representation
  2. broadens cultural diversity

Applicants are asked to submit a current, brief (one page) biography and a letter of intent that indicates the types of activities for which they are willing to commit expertise and time; confirms acceptance of the specific responsibilities of Quality Forum Boar of Directors; and provides additional information on their relevant expertise and experience, previous and/or current work with Quality Forum and previous Board experience. Candidates' names will be available only to the LHCQF Nominating Committee and Board of Directors.
