Family Medicine Congressional Conference Open to All AAFP Members
The 2008 Family Medicine Congressional Conference (FMCC) is scheduled for Monday-Tuesday, May 19-20, in Washington, D.C. The conference is now open to all AAFP members wishing to attend. Register now for FMCC.
There is no one more qualified than you to speak up for health care. Let us show you how to do it.
Day 1: Learn how to lobby. Day 2: Go do it.
Get started in beginner tracks. Develop your expertise in advanced tracks.
- Learn how to practice real-world advocacy.
- Understand family medicine’s legislative issues.
- Visit with Congressional offices.
Sponsored by AAFP and the Academic Family Medicine Advocacy Alliance (AFMAA), the FMCC educates participants on family medicine’s legislative priority issues, trains attendees on how to lobby on Capitol Hill and allows participants to put these skills to use with federal legislators and their staff. Advocacy is a high priority of AAFP and AFMAA; every family physician and educator can learn how to be effective in Washington and at home.
Gain advocacy skills that will help you work with your hospital CEO, DIO or GME office. Learn from and interact with senior level AAFP, AFMAA and influential U.S. government officials.
New this year! Registration is open. Come alone, bring a colleague or grab a resident. In two days, learn about the legislative process and how YOU can affect legislation. There are a limited number of scholarships for residents and students to attend and participate at no cost. If you are a resident or student interested in attending, please complete the scholarship application.
