Tar Wars Presenters Recruited at Annual Assembly
The LAFP would like to thank Morgan Albert, age 15 and Mallory Albert, age 14 of Zachary, Louisiana for spreading the tobacco-free Tar Wars message to our 2008 Annual Assembly registrants, guest and supporters. Mallory and Morgan are the daughters of Lee Ann Albert with Med Job Louisiana.
The girls handed out Tar Wars pencils, stickers, posters and informational brochures to everyone who stopped by the Tar Wars booth. But that’s not all. Morgan and Mallory recruited two volunteers who are interested in presenting the Tar Wars message this upcoming school year. Those persons include Dr. Harold Ishler, who is the newest addition to the LAFP Foundation Board and Sean Landreneau, NP who works with Dr. Stephen Taylor in Vivian.
If you are not currently a volunteer, then the LAFP Foundation would like to take this time to invite you to help spread the message to the youth in your community by volunteering only one hour of your time during the upcoming 2008-2009 school year.
Presenting Tar Wars is not only easy and fun, but you can also make a difference in the health of your community by educating as many children as possible about the harmful effects of tobacco use and generating awareness of the deceiving nature of tobacco advertising. We need your help to encourage children to celebrate, promote, and enjoy tobacco-free lives.
