Time to Gear Up for 2009 LAFP Members Assembly

With summer in full swing, it is time to mark your calendars for the 2009 LAFP Members Assembly set for Friday June 10, 2009, at L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort in Lake Charles, LA. This is held in conjunction with the LAFP 62nd Annual Assembly and Exhibition.

Each summer members of the LAFP meet to determine the policies and priorities of the LAFP for the following year. All members are invited and encouraged to attend, to participate in discussion and to debate LAFP policy.

You may write and submit resolutions for consideration of adoption at the Members Assembly. All resolutions must have been received by June 9, 2009. If you have any quesitons, concerns, or missed the deadline, feel free to contact the LAFP office at 225.923.3313. Writing and presenting resolutions is a great opportunity to direct LAFP policy and to address issues of interest or concern to family physicians and family medicine. In addition, resolutions can honor outstanding achievement or memorialize deceased family physician leaders.

In addition to the business and committee meetings held throughout the week, the conference also offers free continuing medical education (CME) credits and award programs that honor the LAFP Family Physician of the Year, the LAFP Educational Partners, and those members celebrating their 25-50 year milestones with the LAFP. The weekend concludes with the combination of the LAFP Foundation Auction and President's Reception.
