Submit Members Assembly Resolutions: Deadline July 9
LAFP is now accepting resolutions for the 2009 Members Assembly, July 9-12, 2009 at L'Auberge du Lac in Lake Charles, LA. Writing and presenting resolutions is a great opportunity to direct LAFP policy and to address issues of interest or concern to family physicians and family medicine. In addition, resolutions can honor outstanding achievement or memorialize deceased family physician leaders.
You may write and submit resolutions for consideration of adoption at the Members Assembly. All resolutions received by Tuesday, June 9, will be considered.
Any member can submit a resolution for vote by the General Assembly (July 10, 2009, Lake Charles, LA). If you wish to submit a resolution, it must be submitted, in writing, to the Executive Vice President of the LAFP at least 30 days (June 10, 2009) prior to the General Assembly.
Resolutions can not be submitted form the floor except by an affirmative cote of two-thirds of the members of the General Assembly present and voting. Any resolution submitted form the floor and accepted for presentation must be submitted in written form to the Speaker of the General Assembly.
If you have questions about resolution drafting, contact the staff at the LAFP by phone: 225.923.3313 or email: academy@lafp.org.
All members are encouraged to attend, participate in discussion and debate LAFP policy at the General Assembly, Friday, July 9, 2009.
