2008 AAFP National Conference Update
The 2008 National Conference of Family Medicine Residents and Medical Students experienced more than a 6 percent increase in the number of medical students and family medicine residents compared to 2007. The final registration count was 2,780, including 716 medical students (compared to 693 in 2007) and 1,035 family medicine residents (compared to 953 in 2007). The resident attendee numbers include resident exhibitors.
Thirty-nine resident members registered as chapter delegates to the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents and 40 student members registered as chapter delegates to the National Congress of Student Members (compared to 43 resident delegates and 40 student delegates in 2007).
A total number of 23 resolutions were submitted to the resident congress, with 18 (78%) adopted. A total of 24 resolutions were submitted to the student congress, with 17 (71%) adopted. A summary of the 2008 resolutions appears on the conference site at www.aafp.org/nc.
