CMS Approves ABFM Registration for Physician Quality Reporting Initiative

HHS Proposes Adoption of ICD-10 Code Sets and Updated Electronic Transaction Standards

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on Aug. 15 a long-awaited proposed regulation that would replace the International Classification of Diseases, 9th Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) code sets now used to report healthcare diagnoses and procedures with greatly expanded ICD-10 code sets, effective Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011.
