	Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Regional Conference will be held on May 14 and 15, 2009, in Shreveport, LA The Louisiana HIMSS Chapter, Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter and Mississippi Chapters are working together for the First Southern Regional HIMSS Conference to be held at the Sam's Town Casino and Hotel in Shreveport, LA. Physicians who are interested in Electronic Medical Records may want to attend to visit the EHR vendors in the exhibit hall. The conference has two Tracks- EHR and Connecting Communities. HIMSS are also offering two workshops: a Nurse Informatics Workshop and a RHIO Workshop. There are wonderful guest speakers scheduled who will provide valuable information about where Health Information Technology is going in the future.
