LAFP Legislative Chairs Dr. Wayne Gravois and Dr. James Taylor Requests Your Presence at the 2009 LAFP White Coat Day at the Capitol

The Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians and the Louisiana Primary Care Association are pleased to announce:

LPCA and LAFP Legislative Health Fair and White Coat Day at the Capitol

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

in the Louisiana State Capitol Rotunda

The White Coat Day is key to physicians success in the Louisiana Legislature in 2009 and the need for physicians' voices is growing. Issues concerning health care are becoming increasingly complex and the policy makers need to hear from physicians as more and more challenges are being faced at both the state and federal levels. Physicians make a big impression when they show up and talk with Senators and Representatives from their hometown. You are the voice for your patients and when it comes to issues your patients and your colleagues need your help. The LAFP and LPCA are calling on YOU to make a difference and register today.

In addition to the "White Coat Invasion", health screenings and education will also be provided by the Community Health Centers throughout the state. Please wear your white coat and join us for an opportunity to meet with your legislators and discuss important issues affecting health care.

Please help spread the word that White Coat Day at the Capitol needs physicians from all over Louisiana and is open to all physicians, residents and students.

The White Coat Day is designed to provide free health screenings while educating legislators regarding important issues or concerns affecting the health care of your patients.

By participating in White Coat Day, you will:

  • Make a difference now and for medicine's future
  • Learn about hurdles that medicine faces today
  • Inform your Senator and Representative about issues affecting health care
  • Attend committee hearings and House and Senate sessions

Breakfast will be served in at 8:00 a.m. followed by the health fair to take place from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Lunch will also be provided.

You may register online for this event by clicking here to complete the registration form.
