The
65th Annual Assembly and Exhibition is set to take place August 2-5, 2012, at the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Destin, FL. The Education Committee is working hard to bring you quality lectures over the four days of our largest meeting of the year!
Each year the Education Committee review the evaluations and comments form the previous year to decide what educational programs are needed. The Committee accepts proposals from speakers and encourages members to submit proposals to present at the Annual Assembly.

64th Annual Assembly and Exhibition Recap
All CME session ran Thursday, August 4- Sunday, August 7, 2011. CME sessions began at 8:00 a.m. each morning following a breakfast buffet in the exhibit hall. Members of the LAFP Committee on Education volunteer to serve as moderator to each session to maintain non-bias and to keep the sessions on track.
NEW THIS YEAR: on Saturday morning, August 6, there were three parallel tracks: CME for Physicians,
Practice Management for Physicians and/or Office Staff and Workshops and Procedures for LAFP student and resident members.
Accreditation
This Live activity, LAFP 64th Annual Assembly and Exhibition,
has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 16.50 Prescribed credits by the
American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credits
commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
AMA/AAFP
Equivalency:
AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as
equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition
Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported
as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
Program Objectives
This
activity is designed for the specialty of family medicine, but may also be of
educational interest to the specialties of internal medicine, pediatrics and
other primary care fields. It is designed to introduce providers to the latest
information, techniques and technology applicable to office-based patient care
through didactic lectures and interactive discussions. Upon completion of this
program, participants should have a working and applicable comprehension of
these topics. Specific objectives for each topic will be included in the participant
syllabus.
