The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will host a conference call specifically for Louisiana Providers, Partners, and Stakeholders on the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Programs.  The Louisiana Health Care Quality Forum encourages you to participate.  The call will take place on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 from 9 - 10:30 AM Central Daylight Time.

Pain Action Initiative: A National Strategy (PAINS) Print E-mail

LAFP Weekly Family Medicine Update Changing Dates! Print E-mail
You may have noticed that the LAFP's Weekly e-Newsletter, Weekly Family Medicine Update, was not sent last week. The LAFP has changed the date of the weekly newsletter to now be sent on Tuesday of each week. This will allow us to send out the news in the beginning of the week as opposed to Fridays, when we see a lot of "Out of Office" messages.

Get Resources to Stop the Medicare Cuts! Print E-mail
As you know, Congress last summer acted to temporarily rescind the 21 percent Medicare physician pay cut and to add a 2.2 percent increase to what Medicare pays you for your services. However, on Nov. 30, the current temporary "fix" to Medicare physician payment will end. That means on Dec. 1, this year's scheduled 21 percent reduction as well as the 2.2 percent increase that was part of the current Medicare patch, will end.
