AAFP/LAFP resident membership represents an important step in your career. It signifies your decision to identify and associate with the most knowledgeable physicians in an organization dedicated to advancing and representing the specialty of family physicians worldwide. You get the benefits both across Louisiana and throughout the country.



The LAFP is here to support you, through your residency, as a new physician and throughout your family medicine career. Through conferences, scholarships and other opportunities, LAFP helps residents of family medicine access the resources they need to make their future practices great. 

As a member of LAFP, residents have the opportunity to participate in LAFP activities; network with the family physician community; and receive LAFP publications. In addition, leadership opportunities for residents exist to get involved in LAFP and the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Several opportunities exist to contribute to LAFP’s work to better serve Louisiana’s family medicine residents.
