Louisiana has three medical schools throughout the state.

The LSU Department of Family Medicine is doing well and it's strong
curriculum includes physician teachers and hands-on workshops. Student
interest in Family Medicine is on the
rise. LSUHSC- N.O. reported that fourteen graduating LSU seniors chose
Family Medicine for their residencies, and all but two chose to stay in
Louisiana for their training.

Created in 1998 to provide educational and clinical leadership in
Primary Care and Generalism within Tulane University Medical Center and
