Louisiana Family Doctor
CME Accreditation
The Education Committee of the LAFP is requesting your submission of articles or case studies for CME credit in the Louisiana Family Doctor magazine. Your article should be no longer than
2000 words (preferably shorter but we understand that certain topics need more
in-depth treatment). We also welcome
tables, graphics, etc. Please title your
article. A current CV or short biography
must accompany the article along with a suitable photo. Click here to read the author guidelines.
Readers ( including physician authors of CME
articles) who complete and return, to the Academy office, a CME quiz will
obtain the number of credits offered in each edition (varies from .5 to 2
credits). This is an easy way to obtain
credit at no cost – value-added benefit to our physician readers. We ask that authors submit along with
their articles between three and five questions to be used in the CME Journal
Quiz.
Articles
submitted may be an individual case presentation, a case series, original
research, literature review, or opinion/commentary. Other article types
may also be appropriate, subject to approval by the editorial board. Some
articles, particularly opinion/commentary, may be accepted for publication
but may be deemed ineligible for CME credit.
Accreditation:
This activity, Lousiana Family Doctor has been reviewed and is
acceptable for up to 4 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family
Physicians. AAFP accreditation begins March 1, 2011. Term of approval is for
one year from this date. Each each is approved for 1 Prescribed credit. Credit
may be claimed for one year from the date of each issue.
AMA/AAFP
Equivalency:
AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as
equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition
Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be
reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
