Please note: The meeting agenda has been updated and some of the social events have either been cancelled or altered to ensure the safety of our attendees. Some of our speakers will be presenting virtual. If we get down the road and issues arise, we will revisit our decision.
We are offering a worry free registration. You may cancel at any time without penalties. You may cancel your room with a full refund if cancelled 7 days in advance of stay.
Our meeting may look different, our delivery of CME may be new, but our commitment to our members and guests to connect in a safe environment remains the same.
The LAFP is offering an in-person and virtual option to attend the meeting this year. Please read the details below on each option.
The full registration fee covers CME offerings, daily continental breakfasts and coffee breaks, as well as one complimentary ticket to the social events. Registration rates include a member discount, non-members, residents and students. There is also an optional fee for guests and daily registrations to attend the CME.
CME sessions will begin at 8:00 am every day and last until lunch or right after. Breakfast will be served in the exhibit hall each day beginning at 7:00 am. Daily breaks are offered as well as lunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
As we plan our education sessions and events, we want to make you aware of our LAFP Safety Protocols for the meeting. Sandestin Resort has also implemented Banquet Safe Practices and Enhanced Cleaning Initiatives. We are committed to having a safe meeting while social distancing.
VIRTUAL ATTENDANCEWhat we have learned – is that we must continue to learn. It is what drives us, it is what will prepare us no matter what we are faced with in the future. And yes, it has taught us to be flexible. This is an opportunity to state the obvious – that continuing medical education is as critical and evolving as any pandemic. And in response, LAFP is offering the 73rd Annual Assembly & Exhibition in a virtual experience.
This program has been applied for Prescribed Credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. This includes evidence based credit. AAFP Prescribed Credit is accepted by the American Medical Association (AMA) as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, prescribed credit earned must be reported as prescribed credit, not as Category 1.
This activity is designed for the specialty of family medicine, but may also be of educational interest to the specialties of internal medicine, pediatrics and other primary care fields. It is designed to introduce providers to the latest information, techniques and technology applicable to office-based patient care through didactic lectures and interactive discussions. Upon completion of this program, participants should have a working and applicable comprehension of these topics. Specific objectives for each topic will be included in the participant syllabus.
