Kenneth Aguirre, MD, CAQSM

About the Speaker:

Dr. Kenneth Aguirre is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at LSU Health Shreveport and Associate Program Director, Sports Medicine Fellowship at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army. While in the Army he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Sports and Health Sciences at American Military University in Charles Town, WV. After the military he completed a Post Baccalaureate pre-med program at Columbia University in New York, NY.  He completed his medical degree at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten and his Family Medicine residency at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, CA. He completed his Sports Medicine training with The University at Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. He is board certified in Family Medicine and Primary Care Sports Medicine.   

His military career includes enlisting in the US Army on active duty from 2001 to 2007. During his first obligation he served stateside at Fort Leonard Wood, MO and overseas in South Korea. During his last year of Family Medicine residency, Dr. Aguirre joined the US Army Reserves as an officer. He is still currently serving in the US Army Reserves.   

Dr. Aguirre specializes in nonoperative musculoskeletal injuries, concussion, ultrasound guided injections, disease prevention, acute and chronic disease management. He is also fluent in Spanish.
