On behalf of our entire team at the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians, we offer our prayers to everyone impacted by last week's hurricane.  Thousands of our citizens have lost their homes, businesses, and livelihoods.  At least 14 Louisianans have lost their lives.  We know that clean up and an assessment of personal property and business operations will take time. Know that the LAFP is here for you.

Unfortunately, our LAFP members were not spared from the damage.  From Lake Charles to Ruston, several of our members have reached out and have sustained damage.  We are still assessing the impact to our members, but will share more details in the next Weekly Update. Louisianans are known for their compassion and resiliency.  We will recover.

Please do not hesitate to call the chapter office at (225) 923-3313 or email staff at This email address is being protected from spambots. Once we are able to get a sense of what tangible needs there are, we will be asking for assistance on your behalf. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your patients.
