I wanted to invite you to an upcoming special medical conference that I am helping plan. It is sponsored by Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University and there is no fee to attend.

Dr. Robert Redfield former CDC Director will lead a Q&A session entitled “A Conversation on Science, Medicine, Pandemics and our Catholic Faith” on Feb. 12 from 9-11 am at Sacred Heart Church Parish Hall in Baton Rouge, LA.

The conversation will be directly applicable to healthcare professionals and those in medical education including faculty, students, and administrators.

Dr. Redfield has enjoyed speaking with Medical Students and Residents for years on how it is possible to both practice your faith and practice medicine. It will be a great opportunity to have a conversation with a world renowned virologist with expertise and experience with HIV, Ebola and the COVID-19 pandemic having served as CDC director from 2018-2021.

We welcome your attendance and invite you to help promote the event. There will also be a Mass available at 8 AM in the church next to the parish hall if you would like to attend.
