The Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians is seeking nominations for the 2023 LAFP Board of Directors. Make 2023 the year you get involved and be the voice for your fellow members!
The Nominating Committee looks for quality leaders who have the knowledge, time and commitment to help the Academy develop policy and services that will assist the membership in dealing with the present challenges and opportunities of practice.
Members of the LAFP Board are required to exercise a reasonable degree of knowledge, skill and care in bringing their best judgment to the performance of their responsibilities. It is the duty of Board members to keep themselves informed on the problems of the LAFP, to study the materials that are distributed to them, and to exercise sound judgment in arriving at decisions. LAFP Officers and Board of Directors exercise the ultimate executive responsibility and authority of the LAFP and it's their duty to act in the interest of the Academy.
Board members are expected to attend meetings and to take part in the decision-making process. The LAFP Board of Directors meets three times a year, with one meeting held during the summer in conjunction with the LAFP's Annual Scientific Assembly.
Any member may nominate themselves or a colleague. The following positions are up for re-election:
