Students and residents may now apply for scholarships to help cover the cost of attending the AAFP Family Medicine Advocacy Summit (FMAS) which will be held on Monday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 23 at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The event is, once again, being conducted in partnership with the Council of Academic Family Medicine.

FMAS is a unique opportunity for family physicians to directly lobby members of Congress on issues important to family medicine. The first day of the conference is designed to educate participants on the federal issues they will advocate on and to provide training in effective advocacy. Then on the second day, participants will meet with members of Congress and their staff on Capitol Hill to advocate for policies that support their patients and profession.

Scholarships will include reimbursement for travel to and from Washington, DC, as well as hotel accommodations and registration fees.
