Lee Ann Albert, Membership and Outreach Coordinator met with the new FMIG leaders, President, Catherine Torry and Alex Hebert, Vice-President at LSU Health New Orleans on Friday, August 11, 2023 to begin planning the calendar of events. Both Ms. Torry and Mr. Hebert are champions for Family Medicine at LSU Health New Orleans. More details on upcoming events will be available in The Weekly Family Medicine Update.

The FMIG at UQ Ochsner hosted an informational meeting, “The FMIG’s Annual Match Talk”.  Dr. Derek Anderson talked to the students about the ERAS process, writing personal statements, and the interview process. He also gave the students insight on important dates, what qualities programs are looking for, and creating a rank list.  Dr. Anderson also talked to the students about the SOAP process in the event if they do not match in the 2024 Match.  

LAFP staff member, Lee Ann Albert, was in attendance to answer any questions about our Louisiana residency programs.  The students enjoyed snacks provided by funding from the LAFP Foundation.
