As we round out 2023, we at the LAFP Foundation (Foundation) are reflecting on the year’s success and our appreciation for our donors, preceptors, and supporters that have made an impact on our mission to cultivate student career choice in the specialty of family medicine.

Whether through monetary donations, in-kind gifts, or time spent precepting a medical student, we are thankful to all of you and your investment in the future of family medicine in Louisiana.

While we have high hopes for continued success, we are only effective with your help. As you are considering your year-end donations, we ask that you consider a contribution to the Foundation so we may continue our work. Foundation programs have benefited thousands of Louisiana medical students and residents through event scholarships and programming to provide meaningful, family medicine-focused experiences.

Just this year, the Foundation influenced:

• Over 150 medical students who participated in the regional procedure workshops,
• 2 medical students that served as delegates to the National Congress of Student Members,
• 2 residents that served as delegates to the National Congress of Family Medicine Residents, and
• 4 medical students and residents that received scholarships to attend the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians (LAFP) Annual Assembly
