Elections 2024 web thumbnail 01Serving as an LAFP Delegate while in medical school or residency is a tremendous opportunity to develop leadership skills, connect with colleagues early in your career, and be the liaison of family medicine education in Louisiana to our membership.Nominations are open for delegate positions to the LAFP Board of Directors, the LAFP General Assembly and AAFP National Conference. Any member may nominate themselves or a colleague. A slate of nominees will be presented to the full membership for the final vote.

Serving as a delegate offers you the opportunity to enhance your leadership skills and make professional connections with your colleagues.  The time and financial commitment are limited.

  • July 25 - 28, 2024 -  77th Annual Assembly and Exhibition, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Destin, FL
  • July 26, 2024 -  LAFP General Assembly, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Destin, FL
  • August 1 – 3, 2024 - AAFP National Conference for Students and Residents

LAFP Delegate Positions

  • LAFP Board of Directors – The delegates represent the resident and student membership constituency to the Board of Directors
  • Delegate to General Assembly – The delegates represent the resident and student membership constituency at the LAFP General Assembly held each year. The delegates will have full-floor privileges, including voting at the LAFP General Assembly.
  • AAFP National Conference Delegates - The delegates represent the resident and student membership constituency during the AFFP National Conference by writing and coordinating the submission of resolutions and voting on the proposed student and resident resolutions and voting in the election of national student and resident officers.
Come experience your membership to the fullest by serving in one of LAFP’s delegate positions. For each delegate position, two resident positions and two student positions will be elected. One will serve as the delegate and the other as the alternate delegate.
 

If you are interested in serving as a student or resident delegate, complete the online Nomination Application. Any position can be self-nominated as well as nominating a fellow student or resident member.  Once nominations are closed, a ballot will be sent out for voting.
