The AAFP will award 50 travel scholarships to residents and new physicians (those no more than seven years out of residency) to attend this year’s Physician Health and Well-being Conference, May 6−8, 2024, in Scottsdale, Ariz. Travel scholarships of $500 and $1,000 are available to help reduce out-of-pocket conference expenses (e.g., travel, lodging, meals). The deadline to apply is March 1; successful applicants will be notified by March 15.

Only members are eligible for the scholarships. Note that new or lapsed memberships may take up to one week to process, so it is important to plan accordingly; late applications will not be accepted. In addition to being AAFP members, applicants must be able to attend the entire conference (i.e., from noon on Monday, May 6, to noon on Wednesday, May 8).

Because each application is a chance for the judges to learn about the applicant and their goals, applicants are encouraged to provide thoughtful and authentic answers. If applicable, applicants may complete an optional essay to briefly describe how they identify as a member of an underrepresented group in medicine.

Scholarship winners must be registered to attend the conference by April 12. Scholarship checks will be distributed on-site; those unable to attend will forfeit their scholarship.

Questions may be directed to Heather Woods.
