The FMIG at LSU Health Shreveport held its first meeting of the semester on Tuesday, September 13, 2023. Over 25 students attended the meeting to learn more about what it means to be a family physician.

Will Mullen, President, MS 4, introduced the FMIG officers. Each officer talked about their role in the organization. Dr. Peter Seidenberg, Department Chair, Family Medicine and Dr. Ammar Hussan, Assistant Professor of Family Medicine, talked to the students about Family Medicine as a specialty, what family physicians can do in practice, and the importance of primary care.
