Join us on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, to meet your legislators and join other members of the Physicians Coalition working to protect you, your practice and your patients. This opportunity will allow you to join colleagues at the state capitol, gain information about the issues affecting family medicine and your patients and dialogue with state legislators and administration officials. You will be able to attend committee meetings of your choice while they are in a legislative session. Mark your calendar!
White Coat Wednesday was key to physicians success in the Louisiana Legislature in 2025. Issues concerning health care are becoming increasingly complex and the policy makers need to hear from physicians as more and more challenges are being faced at both the state and federal levels. Physicians make a big impression when they show up and talk with Senators and Representatives from their hometowns. You are the voice for your patients and when it comes to issues, your patients and your colleagues need your help. The LAFP is calling on YOU to make a difference!
Participants in White Coat Day will:
- Make a difference for the future of family medicine
- Learn about the challenges health care issues face today
- Inform legislators about the issues important to you and your patients
- Attend committee hearings and House and Senate sessions
