The LAFP in partnership with Ochsner Health Foundation recently hosted the Baton Rouge/Lafayette Area Grand Rounds and Member District Social on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at Ruffino’s on the River in Lafayette.
Our members enjoyed visiting with friends over cocktails before the dinner presentation hosted by the Baton Rouge General Family Medicine Residency Program. Aidan Hutcherson, MD, Chief Resident presented, "Risk Reimagined: Cardiovascular PREVENTion in 2026" to those in attendance.
We also had the honor to confer the Degree of Fellow to Ashanti Smith, MD, PharmD, FAAFP and Susila Shanmuganathan, MD, FAAFP. Mark Dawson, MD, FAAFP led the convocation ceremony. We were also excited to recognize the following member for their membership anniversary with the LAFP:
