The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is now accepting applications for three loan repayment programs. Are you a primary care, dental, or mental and behavioral health provider working at an NHSC-approved site? You could receive up to $100,000 to pay off your student loans.
- National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program (NHSC LRP) – awards up to $75,000 in exchange for two years of service to primary care providers in eligible disciplines, including physicians and women’s health providers; and up to $50,000 for non-primary care eligible disciplines, including dental and behavioral health providers, at approved sites in high-need, underserved areas. NHSC LRP recipients are also eligible to extend their service for even greater debt relief.
- NHSC Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Workforce Loan Repayment Program – provides up to $75,000 in exchange for a three-year commitment from health care professionals who provide SUD) treatment services at NHSC-approved SUD treatment facilities.
- NHSC Rural Community Loan Repayment Program (NHSC Rural Community LRP) – Providers in rural communities may apply to the NHSC Rural Community LRP, which awards up to $100,000 for three years of service to providers who treat SUDs at NHSC-approved SUD treatment facilities in rural communities.

Check Your Eligibility
You must:
- Be a U.S. citizen or national
- Have a license to practice in the discipline and state you are applying to serve
- Be a provider (or eligible to participate as a provider) in the Medicare, Medicaid, and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, as appropriate
- Have qualifying student loan debt
- Work at an NHSC-approved site.
The application deadline is Tuesday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
