The Office of Public Health, in conjunction with the Denver Prevention Training Center, will host a 90-minute webinar on Wednesday, April 8, at 11 a.m. to educate maternal care providers on the clinical implications and screening requirements of Louisiana’s Act 437.  See the webinar flyer.

Obstetricians, gynecologists, certified nurse midwives, family medicine physicians and nurse practitioners, as well as managed care organizations and insurance providers are encouraged to attend. Continuing education and continuing medical education credits are available.

Dr. Veronica Gillispie-Bell, MAS, FACOG will lead the webinar and provide an overview of the legislation. She will also discuss current trends in sexually transmitted infections during pregnancy, highlight changes to gonorrhea and chlamydia testing, and new substance use screening requirements for pregnant individuals.
