Join a new Performance Improvement (PI) continuing medical education (CME) cohort designed to help family physicians strengthen management of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) using current, guideline-directed care.
This structured program is designed specifically for family physicians and centers on guideline-directed risk assessment, LDL-C goal attainment and appropriate therapy intensification. Participants will complete live webinars, an online course, and practice-based quality improvement activities using a supported PDSA framework.
Those selected for the cohort may earn up to 30.5 CME credits, including 20 PI CME credits, while working to:
- Identify and close gaps in ASCVD care
- Improve LDL-C monitoring and goal attainment
- Reduce treatment inertia
- Strengthen team-based workflows
- Apply current American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association, U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, and American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) recommendations with greater clarity.
This AAFP program is limited to a small group of practices, creating space for meaningful peer discussion and shared problem-solving. Importantly, it links CME participation directly to measurable improvements in patient outcomes.
